The Supremes Consider Obama Citizenship Suit

The Chicago Tribune says the U.S. Supreme Court will consider Friday whether to take up a lawsuit challenging President-elect Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship, a continuation of a New Jersey case embraced by some opponents of Obama's election.

Earth Frisk has more background on this story. Yes, the Obama campaign has maintained that he was born in Hawaii, has an authentic birth certificate, and is a “natural-born” U.S. citizen. Hawaiian officials agree. The Director of the Department of Health of Hawaii has issued an Official Statement saying that she has verified that Obama has a birth certificate on file in accordance with Hawaiian law, however, it was NOT stated that Obama was born in Hawaii.

Hawaiian law states that if a foreign born child is adopted in Hawaii (Obama was by his stepfather) then an amended Hawaiian birth certificate can be issued! The Certification of Live Birth from Hawaii that the Obama campaign posted on the Internet isn’t considered by critics to resolve the issue, since during the 1960s when Obama was born, the new state issued the document to infants not necessarily born in Hawaii.

Hopefully the US Supreme Court will hear this. At least bring it to a conclusion.

I'm not sure what outcome I'm hoping for here. If they even consider hearing this case, it will cause tremendous civil unrest from those who have been taught to throw tantrums (read: riots) when you don't get your way (that's you, liberals).

On the other hand, if they don't take the case, or if the "O" wins the case, then we are stuck with a Saul Alinsky disciple as our President for the next 4 years.

There really is no winning proposition, so I suppose I will just hope that our Supremes take a stand and enforce the Constitution, whatever that entails and whatever result ensues.

My gut tells me there is no way the U.S. Supreme Court would hear the case. They should; the voters deserve a final answer. But those who have filed lawsuits simply come across as a sore-losers.

Like the "person who is currently suing the 'Peoples Association of Human, Animals Conceived God/s and Religions, John McCain (and) USA Govt.'"

Geez.
