Team Obama's Prevailing Theme: “Never waste a good crisis”

Rule No. 1 of the Obama administration: Never allow a crisis to go to waste.

It was November when White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said 'never let a serious crisis go to waste'. Now over the weekend Secretary of State Hillary Clinton echoed those sentiments as she channeled her inner Rahmbo:

Clinton told young Europeans at the European Parliament that global economic turmoil provided a fresh opening. “Never waste a good crisis … Don’t waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security,” she said..

Senator Byrd warned us that the current administration is using crises to concentrate power in the executive branch. He was right, and we are now faced with a president, along with his chief aides, who are admitting that it is their desire to exploit a national emergency to further their preexisting agenda.

In Jonah Goldberg latest column, he writes that every president thinks his agenda is what’s best for the country; every politician believes his motives are noble. However, the point is that scaring people about X in order to achieve Y is fundamentally undemocratic.

When bureaucrats and politicians take advantage of a crisis, the result is always less personal and economic liberty. That my friends is not leadership. It’s fear mongering.

Mrs. Bill Clinton is simply following the dictates of her hero, Saul Alinsky, the high priest of radical Marxist Liberation Theology. Alinsky wrote in the dedication of his book, "Rules for Radicals",

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”

He dedicated his book to Satan. There’s a hero for you.

Radical Marxist Saul Alinsky was the mentor of both Hillary and our Dear Leader. It's well documented that “Rules for Radicals” was the basis of Mrs. Bill Clinton's graduation thesis.

Yeah. Change you can believe in.

I disagree with the Administration's actions to "concentrate power in the executive branch," but don't you think any new president - Republican or Democrat - would take advantage of the nation's current crisis (and we seem to have a lot of them at the moment) to further their vision for the nation? It doesn't seem too far-fetched that President Obama would think that way. We just disagree with his policies.

Still waiting on the "less-conservative-than-I" CL readers to chime in.
