Video: CA Assembly Speaker Explains Voter Rejection of Tax Hikes

Posted in , , ,

Tuesday's rejection of billions in tax hikes for California seemed to send a blunt message about runaway government. By rejecting by nearly two-to-one the political establishment's $16 billion in higher taxes, spending gimmickry and additional borrowing, the voters said it's time government faced the same spending limits that the recession is imposing on everyone else.

Well... it looks like not everyone got that message.

California Speaker of the Assembly Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) did agree that voters sent a clear message to state officials with their rejection of the budget related measures.
But, she didn't stop there. You see, Speaker Bass knows the real reason that the ballot measures went down in flames. According to Karen, the poor little tax payer was just too misinformed and too fatigued by all of the recent voting to make the right choice.

Otherwise, they would have voted for the $16 BILLION in tax hikes.

Geez, and I thought it was because Californian's were sick and tired of runaway government spending, massive borrowing, and higher taxes. Maybe even because they saw the deceptive ballot measures for what they were: frauds. Oh well, you say Tomāto I say Tomäto right Karen?

Closing Thought: Contact Speaker Bass HERE and let her know why you rejected the tax hikes and budget gimmicks. Let her know that the priority of California citizens is their freedom. A freedom they cannot have if government forces dependence on them through the bondage of excessive taxes forcing them to work just to keep up with the mounting debt. Enough is enough.
