[Video] Lieberman: Pelosicare Is "Dead On Arrival" in Senate

The Democrat's glow from a health care triumph seems to have already faded into the night...

FoxNews reported that about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people."

The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

One of them being former VP candidate Joe Lieberman who bashed the House health care bill earlier today. The Connecticut maverick reacted to last night’s news that House democrats passed their nationalized health care legislation:

If a government plan is part of the deal, "as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote."

And guess what, in order to overcome any GOP filibusters the Democrats will need a vote from the Connecticut independent.

“I’m afraid that our colleagues in the House added a lot on to their bill to subtract from the genuine purposes of health care reform."

Dare I say it? "Thank God for Senator Lieberman."
