Similar thing happened in Mi...Our previous Gov Granholm (Dem) did this with home health care providers... surreptitiously unionized them AND AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED THEIR DUES from the PATIENTS state disability/medicaid checks ... talk about corruption ... some of the money goes right back into their campaign coffers...

Who said that California isn't a Nanny State? The state doesn't trust the electorate to make good decision on which light bulb to buy. It doesn't trust hotel managers to decide which sheet is best. Plastic bags and styrofoam containers are next. But, God forbid the California stop paying for alcohol or tobacco for CalWORKS recipients. California government is a FARCE!

It is so frustrating that we as a state continue to elect people who consistently raise our tax while driving out the middle class and jobs to Texas, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and beyond. At what point will California be too expensive to live in?

My husband always refers to a Bank of America report in the 1970's that predicted California would become the state of the very, very rich and the very, very poor. Seems they were right.

It's also remarkable to see DC near the top of the areas generating jobs. I wonder why? DC provides little or no useful services, except to a bigger and more intrusive federal government.

California, unfortunately, is the victim of horrible leadership. It has ranked DEAD LAST in business climate for six years straight. It also ranks near the bottom on tax climate.

What's the effect of all that mismanagement? Less tax revenues, shrinking budgets, endemic deficits, ever-increasing taxes.

California government needs to learn to retain existing businesses and attract new businesses.

How far do we want to take the total elimination of collective bargaining? If it goes, it should go across the board with requisite consequences.

Because I too would like to make my share of incentives and bonuses in the good times as well, like the private sector, for service, stats, merit, production, etc.

While the President is feeding us his line of garbage as to cutting spending, it came to my attention yesterday that the FED is considering a QE3 package as the 1.2 trillion dollars of worthless money they've already printed hasn't done what they though it would. All of the cuts in the world are not going to offset the hyper inflation and the costs that come with printing worthless money. M1 has grown 15.2% in less than 3 months and all of that is unbacked paper!
